My personal project will be me writing and recording a 3 track single . I would like it to be indie folk/ pop genre and I have been deeply influenced by people like sufjan Stevens and the neighbourhood both lyrically and through their production both create quite a dark but peaceful type of listening experience which I would like to capture in some form in my music whether through lyrics/ production or both .
*Overall , depending on how the next few weeks ago , my main aim is to make an original song and promote it.
I will be, and have already, watching quite a few videos on people like sufjan sevens and Phoebe bridges production process and even Charlie puth who , isn't the same vibe as other artists ive mentioned , is just a great producer ,particularly for vocals , and I find watching his videos really helpful regardless of the genre your working on . I will do this so I can hopefully capture some of their techniques into my music to capture that kindle similar vibe im looking for .
I will have to think about the way I want my personal project to be displayed and come across to people the way I promote it will have effects on this . For example making posters that are more original to me using sites like canva or adobe to do this on, color schemes etc .
My overall aim for this project is to get something recorded that is an original piece of music by myself . As this is my personal project ,I will be doing the production myself, if this wasn't my personal project I would normally give this role to someone more trained in production however I will see it as a good learning curve for my soft skills in production like adding eq , compressing , automation , effects etc ..
PERSONAL PROJECT PLAN
WEEK 1
Writing - this week I will focus on writing lyrics and chords . I will find inspiration by hiring out poem books from the library , listening or reading to music . I will have to book a good room for that factors in quiet and is a good writing environment . I will have to consider what themes I want write about and consider whether I will want other musicians on the song . By the end of this week I will hope to have at least two of my songs written .
Videos I intend to watch :
https://youtu.be/zuP1YVs6m7M?si=i1xAR6zyffADn8IP
https://youtu.be/QKW4E1lT-ro?si=Fl2ZVcctkU8l-usI
WEEK 2
Writing and rehearsing - This week I will finish writing any lyrics that I don't have . I will then need to write up these lyrics from off my phone so they have in a more physical copy then just on my phone . This week will be focussed on figuring out what session musicians I need ( if any ) and teaching and rehearsing it with them or maybe just to hear the song on a different instrument to give e more inso if needed . I will have to write out the chords for them and have a means of communicating with them via phone . ( insta etc ) just to make sure I can organised and keep up good communication skills.
WEEK 3
This week will be focussed on recording my first song . I will need to have someone in the recording with me so will have to communicate with people to see who are free . I will be watching videos on good recording techniques videos I intend to watch are :
https://youtu.be/lOAETrx2pXk?si=XigExIsCvra29Ar8
https://youtu.be/Ja_emre9Wwc?si=P08DNJBsb48JQwPP
WEEK 4
This week will be focussed on recording my second song . I will need to practise recording to a click so as I can add other edit my song song with more . I will be taking videos of myself along the recording process so as I have footage to post into my blog to break up the continuous writing and add more detail to it .
WEEK 5
Recording and mixing . By this time I hop i can have at least 2 songs recorded to save some Time for the mixing and mastering . At the this point I will also be looking at starting tasks for my promotional material like looking at inspiration for website design and also creating more social platforms I promote my music on like a TikTok account .
WEEK 6
Mixing and mastering . the week I will be mixing and mastering my songs . And I will have to watch some videos and get some tips from peers to learn more about it . I will have to learn about things like eq compression and effects .
Constraints :
finances - the problem is paying for abobe premier pro and getting the finances to pay for it over the time i need it
availability to others - im going to need help from other musicians with
working with social media algorithms
Recording room availability
time
personal creativity issues
Target Market : .
Being a young person myself it makes sense that my audience is for more adolescent experiences and therefore my music will probably click with a more younger audience with an appreciation for thought provoking lyrics . My song won't be very heavy so may appeal more to people that like more relaxing music for a car ride or a coffee shop . My songs will be based around the indie folk and pop genres .
Skills I want to develop :
Production skills - to do this this I will be mixing my song myself ( I am not a producer and don't know much about it but decided to take on the role as its for my personal project and will help m learn )
Recording skills - I will watch videos on recording techniques and try to add some of their tips into my creation process
Stage confidence when performing an original - I really struggle for confidence when performing originals however over the next six weeks hope to develop this .

WEEKLY JOURNAL :
WEEK 1 :
DAY1 :
Today I started writing up lyrics I've been having a bit of a writers block lately so decided to start the project by getting inspiration by watching clips on YouTube on how to make a song . I watched Amy Dang how to make a Song and she told me to get inspiration from other songs and poems so I hired out a few poetry books and highlighted lines and wrote them down .
This was the Annie Dang video I watched :
Songs I found lines I particularly liked lyrics in were :
Pale blue eyes - Velvet underground - highlighted lines ' everything I couldn't keep
Heartbeats - Jose Gonzales
I ended up listening to the entire Carrie & Lowell album by sufjan Stevens - I liked minamilistic feel production and guitar picking and I decided I wanted incorporate this style into my songs .
I got into college , every Tuesday we talk as a class and book out rooms , this week I stayed in c20 and 21 .
I decided to give myself a stimuli to get myself going and went with the theme of finding something good and loosing it . I want an abstract feel to my lyrics that I got from songs like 'only thing ' y sufjan Stevens or certain Sylvia Plath poems I had read like Sheep in the fog that have strong nature references .
I USED THE NEXT FEW DAYS FOR LYRIC WRITING
Writing lyrics turned out to e more trickier then anticipate I had wrote out a lot of them except I didn't seem to like any of them : the only lyrics I didn't hate were these ones :
DAY 5
Unfortunately I had some personal life constraints , today I had to be at a funeral . I have two more coming up so this will put me back however I will have to adapt my plan to this and run into my extra week .
DAY6
Today , as I wasn't in on Tuesday I didn't get priority booking a room however I still managed to compromise with someone and get c20 for a lesson so I could work on some lyrics. I managed to write get some chords I liked and , this will be the first song on my single .
The lyrics are :
Ive tried to write it down , there used to be ways around sights and emotions , love and devotion till the flame went and burnt it out
Sat in the dark again , alone but im with a friend we've been poker he's always been a joker with a heart that ill never mend
think that you found the one , till they tell you they've found someone , the joy in their eyes makes you feel like you could die and they'd never even know you'd gone , no they never even know you'd gone .
I watched the sun fall thought I heard you call , must've been a dream and im not sure what it means but use been here for way to long.... ( repeat fade out)
DAY 7
Today I wrote out chords for lyrics and managed to record a rough video for the song
SONG 1 = ✅
WEEk2
I had booked c21 for most days this week guitar lessons had this room for the afternoon to work around this I used the room for the morning however negotiated with Maya who was to use c19 for the afternoon who said it was fine as she could blog.
I was listening to a podcast on Alanis Morisette and, inspired by her song, ' you outta know ' I decided to start my song using gm and c , this did not work out after a while.
During the day I started realising how I didn't like the lyrics I had wrote the day before which is a common thing to happen for a lot of artists . I got my teachers help and he went over the lyrics and tried to reword them ,maybe to help me see them in a different light or to give a creative standpoint .
That evening I decided to move on from the lyrics as I didn't like them and managed to get some chords down I liked
I used dm , f, c , g - I knew this was fairly basic but it gave me creative freedom for the lyrics and worked around my limited guitar playing skill , furthermore I decided if the guitar is more simple I will be able to sing better when performing live . Once I had found these chords I had managed to write down some lyrics on my notes on my phone:
DAY4 :
Funeral Day
DAY5
Today I was in c20 and managed to write the lyrics out for the chorus and verse of the song
PRE-CHORUS:
CHORUS :
I now have a lyrics and chords my issue is I've been having trouble actually putting them together, however I still decided to spend a morning trying to record guitar for this song . I watched a video on sufjan Stevens sound and after watching this video I decided to use a plucking pattern instead of strumming and also add piano to it :
This is the set up I used to record the guitar :
I used ribbon mics for a darker sound however due to their figure of 8 polar pattern it kept picking up the drums next door so I had to ask them to stop when I was recording . I managed to record the guitar and I got Maya to add some piano chords to it .
To Keep myself in time I played to a drum track I find this better then playing to a click as it feels more natural.
Furthermore as it is all played in time it will make editing easier and adding other instruments as I can play them to a click to and trust its in time with previously recorded instruments.
After a long day of recording I couldn't find inspiration from the chords I was playing so played some new ones , as I couldn't get them to go with the lyrics so In the evening I ended up writing new chords , I like writing songs more fluidly together but due to the time limit I had I decided Id have to make it however I could . The chords I used were :
Fsharpminor, A , Bm, A
SONG 2 = ✅
Reflection on this week
This week has been riddled with constraints that have put me back such as the funerals and the interruptions during my recording . However I did manage to get a song down and have increased my soft skills in studio recording and set up . I learned about mic boosters, wich boost the level of the microphone output , and also setting up ribbon mics . I spent a lot of time writing lyrics and still haven't finished my third song however I will use the start of next week to write it .
WEEK 3
Today I started writing my third song .
I used the chords g , bm , am , d and d7
I was inspired by Eddie Veder's 'tonight you belong to me ' which is wear I magpied the d7 chord from for that vintage feel to my song .
I had these chords wrote down a while back in my notepad but only managed to write lyrics for them when I got a piano player in to play them on piano I booked c20 and brought Maya in and I tried improvising some lyrics . here is a recording of me trying to find lyrics for the song in todays practise :
I came home and I managed to finish the lyrics for the song ...
HERE THEY ARE :
and one of just me playing it on guitar after :
Third song= ✅
So now I have all three songs wrote out I just need to record them .
This week there was a gig I used this gig to break the confidence barrier I have with performing my originals in front of people . I didn't feel confident enough on guitar yet so Maya played piano for me but I managed to sing it and it went well :)
I made a poster this week for the gig wich was to help raise money for charity but also good to help promote my song . and spread the word around the college . This was a good environment to play my song as it is supposed to appeal to an audience of youth as the song is about adolescent woe and feeling distant from a person you wanted to be close to , to a point where its becomes about having to let them go, move on into your own life and becoming your own priority instead of someone else's disposable extra .
CONCLUSION AND LOOK BACK FOR THIS WEEK :
A lot of the time I kept changing my lyrics cause I kept feeling like they were bad but one of the constraints I face is my self confidence , It made it difficult for me to diffenreciate between whether the lyrics were actually bad or if I just wasn't believing in what I wrote enough . I am currently behind schedule due to the funerals but will try and scrape my way back.
This week I have developed skill sin poster making on canvas and also organisation as im taking videos wich I feel makes things feel more structured .
WEEK 4 - Rehearsing and recording first song ( HOLD ON GOLDEN )
I start this week with chords and lyrics I just need to show Maya ( pianist) it so I can get her to play it on piano I managed to structure the song more and template it as :
Today I broke down the bars of each part so Maya knows for how long to play each part . I decided I wanted to have appregios at the start , during the chorus and after the first chorus but then straight chords for the verses .
We were meant to use today to record , I had booked out c17; we faced some constraints .The last people in the room left the space in a bit of a muddle and we had to sought out the space first and also we had figure out the bars so Maya could play it accurately.
At the bottom I also figured out the the time signature and bpm . My aim for this week is I really need to get the piano recorded so then I can focus on the vocal takes and adding extra instrumentation I can add on logic.
DAY 3
unfortunately for this day I could not book c17 for the morning so had to use c19 . Me and Maya used this time to work on our other song so we and we managed to I managed to write another verse and figure out the chorus .
Input Video
glass on the floor
for the afternoon I booked out c17 and we started recording piano .
I added a click so as Maya could keep in time and also so it would make adding stuff to it easier.
It took us about 7 takes for the piano sit was a fairly hard piano part to play and the length of the sections varied .
After we managed to get the piano I went into the recording booth set up the headphones and started my first take . The song has a large dynamic range so I had to use mic skills . On the verse I was closer to the mic , I wanted that intimate feel to the vocal and I remember I watched a production video on Phoebe bridges production and how she gets her intimate vocal by singing very quietly but being close to the the mic . The pre chorus and chorus is sung with more force so I had to step back a bit . so as it wasn't too intense on the mic.
A constraint i came across wich I learned as I was singing , was that the piano was played a bit too long on the pre-chorus so we cut out the extra 8 bars that was played and dragged it back the rest of the recording back into place. I had booked out room 13a for the next day so I really needed to get the piano down today as there is no piano in 13a .
After cutting the piano down our lesson was over and we had to leave . I put the recording onto a hard drive so I can take into 13a tomorrow .
DAY 4
I had to use the morning to practise for the gig but in the afternoon I had booked c17 not 13a and me and Maya continued working on the piano recording after . After relistening to the piano track we realised that the ending still wasn't right so we decided to cut it and re-record just the end . We were on a bit of time pressure as Maya had to leave early however the issue was it was hard for Maya to know the to come In as ,once we hit record, the previous piano muted itself .
*on self reflection I now realised what we should have done was make a new piano track and record through that . * But this has been a learning experience for me increasing my soft skills in studio recording .
Due to this , the piano player wasn't coming in at the right time I put the count down on but we were still finding it diffuilt to merge the two parts fluently.
After playing a rough version of the ending my piano player had to leave , so I tried stitching up all these different parts of piano we recorded however the ending wasn't played right so I had to ask another piano player to come in and play the last chord as it didn't have a cadence ending and didn't sound finished .
even after all this the chorus was still played too may times over at the end .
due to the time limit I will have to stick with this recording and mend it up as best I can but I will ask Maya to record Piano at home over the weekend , she told me it might not sound as good due to her piano not being as good as colleges , but , If she has time to get fluid recording , then at least I won't have to patch it up as much ...
DAY 5 :
Today , Maya wasn't in so I spent all day trying to record guitar for the first song that I wrote .
This is the set up I used .
. ribbon mics
my research on ribbon mics :
Ribbon
figure 8 ( picks up sound from back and front but rejects at sides ) .This is good for maybe playing guitar so the mic can block the guitarists breaths and noise and focus on guitar noise.
FIGURE 8 : (behold the artistic talent)
ADVANTAGES
capture highly dynamic ; high fidelity sound (good for detail )
allows for a more natural room sound and reverb than a cardioid
DISADVANTAGES
expensive
adds a dark effect ( 'basey')
not good for stage as foil inside can rip (delicate)
I was finding it very difficuilt to record in c18 as there is always a drummer In the next room and the ribbon mics which are quite sensitive to noise pick it up fairly easily. So I had to tell them to be try and be less loud but it still kept picking up , eventually when they finished I started recording again and over 20 takes late still couldn't seem to get it right withought it buzzing , I decided to play farther away from the mics thinking that might make a difference which it did a little bit but still didn't sound that great .
My constraint here was that I made the guitar too difficuilt for myself to play. And also the interruptions I had, as I had to meet the music video shoot people so I can be an extra in their music video . I haven been having any help recording by a producer as everyone is too busy .
DAY 6 .
Today I have been working on the music video shoot so didn't have much Time to record my song however this was a good networking opportunity as I now have the contacts of a famous band who have had over 100 million views on YouTube and contacts for their director and have been in one of their music videos!
This was an all day job but I managed get the direcotrs email and send him an email about then I had to practise for a gig at the cedar hall
- This gig went well I made networking opportunities with people like the levellers who came and watched furthermore Skid row interacted with one of the band post if their performance wich was very cool .
I got this photo of myself and am going to use it for my website.
Even though today was good for promotion for the development of my personal project it set me back as I had no time to
DAY 7:
Day 7 was a music video shoot day again - this unfortunately put me back in my recording plan and I will see how fast I can get the done of the piano song that I was doing with Maya before I decide whether I should change to maybe just releasing 2 songs .
CONCLUSION FOR THIS WEEK :
Constraints faced : This week I faced a lot of different fiddly constraints such as other people using the erecording rooms when I needed a certain one , stalling my plan .
One time this week we went into the recording room and nothing was in the correct place we decided to us that time in the end to just go over the song a bit so were more practised for when we record .
This week was difficult as Maya didn't have much time to work with me as a session musician this really put me back and now im going to have to start looking at reducing the songs down to maybe only one .
Another constraint was trying to record with the drummer in the next room I had to tell them to play quiet but their quiet wasn't very quiet and kept effecting the recording.
Skill learned for this week are I have learned how to set up a recording room how to use mic and mic boosters and also skills recording and communication through the glass of the studio and the recording room .
.
week 5
DAY 1
Today I decided to come in on Monday and Start recording my song , Haven . Monday isn't normally a day Im meant to in but I decided that I would be able to get some good recording in . I could only get c18 I had to set up in their with the ribbon mics, mic boosters etc Maya wasn't in today so I had to work on a song where I didn't need piano
I recorded the guitar main line wich took me around 3 takes I then recorded the main line again twice over and panned it left and right so it gave the recording a more fuller effect .
I also addd some base riffs over the top which I thought added a nice descending fill on transitions from the verses to the choruses and a vintage type sound .
I started recording Vocals for haven . I was recording in c18 and after a few takes I kept hearing a fuzzing noise in the recording there , there was no pop shield so decided to use a sock which was a hack I learned from a recording video I watched.
GRINCH SOCK ↓
I thought this might help with the fuzzing but it didn't so I went into c17 . After setting up in 17 , i just decided to re record the entire vocal and managed to get it on the third take.
I had to record some parts in takes for example the last chorus I recorded separately as it was a different vibe from the rest of the song .
DAY 2
Unfortunately Ive had another funeral to go to this week , these have been a big part of my last few weeks and therefore have set me quite behind Ive decided that due to my time schedule im going to have to focus down to one song as I ve already recorded vocal and guitar for haven this seems like better choice to for under the time schedule .
DAY 3
Unfortunately c17 has been booked out for the rest of the week by lesson and other musicians this means that i'm going to have to use a hard drive to take my recording from c17 to 18 . This is my first time using a hard drive and have had to teach isle how to do it , it wasn't that difficult , to save money I used my friends hard drive instead of buying one , when my pay check comes in I will though , I went back into c18 wich was the only room free.
I didn't not want to use this room as it made my vocal fuzzy last time however under the time schedule have decided this is going to be be my best bet and this single may have to turn into a demo release version .
I Watched a video on vocal recording to give me a better insight to vocal recording skills watched a Charlie putt video :
This video gave me the idea of recording the same vocal line on top wich seems obvious now but probably wouldn't have thought about it until this video . He also reccomended when adding layered harmonies doing them at different distances ad also voices to make the overall sound seem fuller .
I also watched this video :
I love the intimate feel of Phoebe bridges songs and this video stated that Phoebe bridges sings very quietly and close to the mic to create that sound. I decided to try and incorporate this into my recording .
My initial idea for the harmonies was to have lots of harmonies on the chorus but then have stripped back verses .
I got it into c18 and after listening to it back I couldn't ignore how I had played the intro riff too slow so I decide to re-record the intro riff again in a different track I kept finding this really difficult as to record it so it was in time with the harmonies .
Once I had recorded it , I had to cut down the initial track intro ,however, I didn't trim it right and the two tracks didn't merge together well and created a popping noise after the intro had finished .
After trying many different things ( I tried gluing, automation, compression , etc ) I couldn't get rid of the pop, I realised the only thing that would fix it would be rerecording the whole guitar part wich would then mean I would have to re-record the guitar harmonies as I never recorded to a click , wich is something I did for all my other songs apart from this one , and I just didn't have time to re-record so had to keep it in .
In real life I would be working with a producer to help me produce this song and therefore would've been able to get out the pop however as this is for my personal project i'm trying to do it as much by myself as I can and its also a good for my production skills as ive learned about the importance of recording to a click .
My initial idea for the vocal harmonies was to have lots of harmonies on the chorus but then have stripped back verses . I layered up the chorus with harmonies however couldn't get them to sound right so decided it sounded better just double tracked instead of the harmonies for a more fuller sound ( Charlie Puth's video gave me this idea. )
DAY4
For the verses I decided to add harmonies on the second verses and then little sprinkles of harmonies throughout the third and forth .
This is where I am so far with the project :
There's a lot wrong with this that I need to fix , the harmonies don't match on the ' falling down ' part and there's a whole chunk of vocal that's dissapeared . but at least I have som harmonies down.
DAY5
Today I continued recording and fixing the harmonies .
I ended up realising where the missing vocal line went it turns out just covered I just covered it with another piece of audio and when I moved it the vocal line was there again !
Instead of having all those harmonies on the ' falling down' part I decided to just double track that part too.
I personally think it sounded better.
This week I learned about vocal recording I learned a lot about mic skill and how to re-record good harmonies for a fuller sound.
CONCLUSION FOR THIS WEEK :
This week I learned a lot about recording vocal I learned how you should space out different takes from the mic , double-tracking, and also little hacks like a sock over a mic for a pop shield .
This week I had another funeral wich obviously had a big impact on my week and consequently I am now even more behind .
I kept having technical difficulties with the audio such as the popping at the start of track . However I managed it as best as I could and in the process learned a little about compression and automation .
WEEK6
Mixing and releasing .
DAY 1
Over the course of the last 6 weeks my personal project has had to adapt to a lot of different situations and constraints some of wich have stopped me from coming into college and due to this what was meant to be a single has now turned into a demo . I plan to release it on Soundcloud and record a YouTube video for promotion .
Today I started to eq the guitar parts and vocals .
this is the guitar eq I used for the bass guitar parts
I boosted low end a little bit between around 80hertz and 200 to give it a fuller sound
I wanted a blanketed sound for the vocal almost like Phoebe bridges . I watched this video on vocal production based around the Phoebe bridgers sound and it gave me a good insight on how I should eq my vocal to get that sound .
This was my vocal eq I decided to use in the end :
I decreased the the level around the 2k mark as I found it to be quite nasally and between the 2- 5 k mark is the sound that makes it quite bright but I learned from the video to get that blanketed , Phoebe bridges type sound you could bring this down a bit depending on your voice . I have quite a high pitch voice so I thought it sounded better to Bring it down a little bit .
DAY 2
During the chorus of the song on the high note I didn't move back from the microphone Ana dit made it seem noticeably louder than the rest of the recording . I decided to add compression to try and die it down a little .
I listened to the song back on adjusted the levels of the songs .
I added a touch of reverb on the vocal just to give it a fuller effect .
Today me and my band had rehearse for the unplugged gig wich is in two days .
DAY 3
Today I had to rehearse for the unplugged gig which is tomorrow for this gig I will play my original 'Haven' to promote furthermore I will play guitar for it and will perform solo . This my first time ever playing an original solo and will develop my confidence as performer to perform an orginal song on my own ...
I had to make the run-through sheet so as everyone knows what th the running order for the practise :
This was good for my organisation skill furthermore I took the role of taking donations at the door and helping give out programmes and also baking cakes .
This turned out to be too much responsability for us to take on as no one in the baking group chat had time to make cakes ,so, we had to send an email to the tutors apologising and saying we couldn't do it.
This was a mistake we made by putting too much on ourselves.
The day of the gig I couldn't get any further mixing done as we had tech run in the church . I made a checklist of what I responsibility are good skills for a performer and also help you to feel confident .
During the gig I had talked about my original and told people to check out my YouTube where I did a video of me playing it and to check out my website wich will have my future gigs and projects on .
I did two songs a cover and then obviously my original.
This was a video I managed to get :
Finally , on the last day of this week I managed to upload my demo song to Soundcloud . It is just a demo as due to the set backs i've had I wasn't able to mix it as much as I would've liked it and obviously I couldn't master it . However over the last few week is have learned a lot about producing and recording wich is something that has always been my weaker skills I am now more confident to set up in a recording room , using ribbon mics , record over things properly , and have a better knowledge of logic in general from the different tools and effects to how to use compression and eq.
So , I started this project wanting to release a three song single , unfortunately I ran into a lot of unavoidable constraints and pressures that took time away from my project. I had three funerals to go to and 2 of them landed o the days where we were meant to book rooms which meant I always got last pick at the rooms . Furthermore , I never had a producer to help me out with my tracks; I know a lot of the other performers had help from peers that were producers to help them produce their tracks , I didnt have this - I asked about but by the time I had finished getting my song wrote up everyone was working with someone else or didn' t have time to help me record or mix my track so I did it myself taking up a lot more time then anticipated- time being a big constraint Due to the amount of constraint I faced I had to make quick fire decisions about he best way to navigate the six weeks to still have something to show at the end which took skills in working under pressure and decision making .
I did in the end manage to make and record a song , it wasn't recorded that well and as I didnt have much time to mix it the way I wanted , so , I had to release it as a demo on Soundcloud . Despite the struggles of the last six weeks I have managed to gain a lot of new skills .
Over the last six weeks I have gained a vast array of different skills from making posters and logos on canva ,creating my website , learning how to mix vocals and get certain sounds .
I have learned how to bounce music from logic to Soundcloud and have become a lot more independent and confident in the recording rooms and can use logic more fluidly .
I gained skills in communication from negotiating with people about room booking to having to tell people to keep it down whilst I was recording . I have developed my stage confidence for performing an original . Before the start of this six weeks I felt like I was stuck in a rut and nothing i was writing was good enough but think I just needed to just perform one of my songs at a gig and stop overthinking them and thats what I have done and its made me feel better because of it .
I have figured out over the last six weeks what kinda of sound I like and what I want to aim for and have learned about how to eq vocals and record harmonies to better standard then what I would've been able to do before .
I have learned a lot of skills with promotion as well , I have Made a tik tsk account and made my first video on there :
And I have hit my main aim which was to at least write a song , release it on a platform :
and make a YouTube video of some sorts to promote it :
Analytics
I ended up getting over 140 views on my YouTube video I shared it around on social media platforms .
Ive gotten over 300 views on my tik Tok and a comment
